Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage consists of a range of massage techniques such as kneading, smoothing, tapping and rubbing to the shoulders, upper back, neck, scalp and face.
There are many physical and psychological benefits to Indian Head massage, it can ease headaches, reduce stress, and ease feelings of depression or anxiety. These effects can result in mental clarity and feelings of peace, leaving you perfectly relaxed.

Stiffness in the neck, shoulders and upper back are eased throughout the massage therapy, increasing blood flow to the areas, and loosening any tightness in the muscles. The shoulders carry the entire weight of the head, which can be about 10lbs on average, and a neck and shoulder massage will be invaluable to anyone who works at a desk or sits in a compressed position for any length of time.

The scalp is stimulated and smoothed, relieving tension and clearing the chakras. It is also a fantastic way to promote hair growth and improve hair quality. The oils used in the massage nourish the hair, while the massage simulates the roots of the hair, increasing blood flow to the area and an influx of nutrients.
The routine finishes with a face massage, and a clearing of the chakras in the head, face, and shoulders. The process relieves tension in these energy points and rejuvenates the mind and body.

Only the upper shoulders, upper back, arms and neck are exposed during this treatment, so this is the perfect way of relieving stress and tension for clients who may be new to massage, or apprehensive about a full body massage.

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE - 30 MINS - £30

Reiki with Deeping Massage at Feathers Holistic Centre

Arrival: What to expect

Please arrive 10-15mins before your start time to organise paperwork if not already completed, and get ready for your massage. I will give you space and time to undress privately and lie down on the massage table, and cover yourself with a towel. Please note that you MUST wear underwear at all times, for any treatment. It is important to note that I am a professional Massage Therapist, trained to give professional treatments.

By default, I will play some relaxing music during your massage, as it can help you to unwind. Don't be afraid to say if you'd prefer not to have it - or indeed if you're unhappy with anything else in the treatment room. Being content in your surroundings is important for relaxation and will help you sink happily into your massage. The same goes for talking. Some people like to chat a bit; others don't. It doesn't matter as long as you're comfortable, relaxed and receptive.

I will ask about the pressure I am applying during the massage, if at any point you are not comfortable with the pressure, please feel free to communicate.

After the treatment, you'll probably feel quite relaxed and maybe even sleepy, so give yourself plenty of time to unwind. All massage can leave you feeling thirsty - this is because your body is flushing out toxins. Drink plenty of water afterwards and you will start to feel right as rain again.
